St Oswald's Anglican Church

St Oswald's is the local church for the One Tree Hill and Oranga areas and beyond. We are a small, friendly, lively and active church. You can be certain of a warm welcome.

Our 9.30 meeting is a flexible, contemporary style of Anglican worship. We value thoughtful  and relevant preaching, rooted in the Bible, with sincere worship of God through Christ. Families fit well at our 9.30 Sunday morning service; children go out to Junior Church during term time, led by experienced and mature adults. We are always keen for new children to join us. And morning tea after the service is a friendly time.

At 8am we follow the prayer book closely in a quiet service. Older people might like to come to our Wednesday, 10am worship (a 40 minute traditional service) followed by a cup of tea together - an excellent way to meet people.

We have a Youth Group partnership with Greenlane Presbyterian Church. We have at least one All Age Service each term. St Oswald's supports local school families via the schools' social worker, through regular foodbank and other help. We also support the City Mission, the Anglican Trust for Women and Children and the NZ Church Missionary Society. There are quite a few activities that involve the whole church, including picnics, dinners and seasonal events. We have two women’s home groups and want to revive our men's group.

Our friends, the Grace Chinese Mission Church, meet at 11:30 at St Oswald's on Sundays. We combine to worship God together twice a year.

So what's important to us at St Oswald's? We are a church where people can discover Jesus for themselves, trust in Him and learn how to put their faith into action; where we can support and build up one another; where we can find ways to engage with and contribute to the wider community. There’s a high level of involvement.

There's plenty more we could say, but why not cross the threshold and meet us!

Rhys Lewis is our vicar - phone 579 1946. For the church office please phone 636 8926 between 9 - 12, Tuesday to Friday.

St Oswald's is near the traffic lights at the corner of Wheturangi and Campbell Roads.
